Standing high above a lake, looking through a natural arch, lets one imagine what beauty in creation lies ahead and beyond the horizon. However, there is also the uncertainty what might happen if one loses its foothold and falls down from the cliffs. Similar thoughts may arise as we cross the threshold into a new year. The anxiety of not knowing what the next few months will bring can cause stress.
As Christians we know that we are never alone. We trust that Jesus, our Lord and Savior, is with us at every moment and that we are blessed to have many wonderful saints and our departed loved ones as intercessors in heaven.
Therefore we continue to journey into a new year with hope and trust!
We celebrate Christmas! Christ was born in the stillness of the night as the most beloved Christmas Carol suggests:
Silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright!
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child.
Holy Infant, so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace. Sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, holy night, Son of God, love’s pure light radiant beams from thy holy face,
with the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord, at thy birth; Jesus Lord at thy birth.
